Rain kills four in Karachi
KARACHI: At least four people were killed in rain related incidents in the city. Meanwhile five people including women were killed in Tharparkar when a lightning bolt struck them. The first series of monsoon rains in Karachi started on Tuesday afternoon, with many areas receiving light and heavy rain cooling down a recent spell of hot and humid weather in the city. Heavy rainfall was witnessed in SITE area, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Malir, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, Baldia, Maripur, Super Highway and several areas, while some other areas saw slight drizzle.Read More
Police find dead bodies of two girls in Narowal
NAROWAL, 10 MAY, (DNA) – Dead bodies of two girls has been recovered from Arood Afghana in Narowal, police said on Sunday. On getting the information, security personnel arrived at the scene and termed the incident as an attempt of suicide. According to relatives, the deceased girls, Saba and Tanzila were students of M.A and were close friends. Police sources reported that a note was written on their hands to bury them in same graveyard.
Delegations arrive to receive bodies of Naltar crash victims
ISLAMABAD, 10 MAY, (DNA) – High-level delegations from Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Norway have arrived in Islamabad to receive the bodies of victims killed in Friday’s helicopter crash in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Naltar Valley. According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, the delegation from Philippines headed by the Under Secretary of Philippines Ministry of Foreign Affairs including the spouse and son of the late ambassador reached Islamabad on Sunday. The delegation from Malaysia consists of senior officials and daughter of the Malaysian ambassador.
