Fuel prices likely to increase

Khayyam Abbasi ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are likely to go up yet again from February 1. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of the prices of petroleum products in which it has proposed an increase of Rs12 per litre for petrol and Rs10 per litre for diesel, say sources in the petroleum division. The final decision would be taken by the Ministry of Finance headed by Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh after consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.


Turkish-Russian joint Karabakh center to start operating as of Saturday

ANKARA, JAN 29 – The Turkish defense minister on Friday announced the completion of the construction of the Turkish-Russian joint monitoring center in Upper Karabakh, saying it will become operational as of tomorrow. Minister Hulusi Akar told Anadolu Agency that he has discussed matters of defense and security with his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov over the phone. EU starts export control on COVID-19 vaccines

BRUSSELS, JAN 29 – The European Union introduced on Friday a transparency and authorization mechanism on coronavirus vaccines produced in member countries. Before giving an export permit on COVID-19 vaccines, EU states will have to verify at the European Commission if a pharmaceutical company, which signed an advanced purchase agreement with the bloc, delivered the jabs.
