US assured of no military role for India in Afghanistan: Kh Asif

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) –Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said that the United States (US) had assured Pakistan that India would play no military role in Afghanistan.
In an interview, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan has been playing its role for the establishment of peace in the region.
Meanwhile, he also attended an event in the capital where he spoke to the attendees. He said that the religious extremism has caused immense loss, stating that the country is fighting terrorism from both east and west.
Asif admitted that Pakistan had dependent upon the US for its foreign policy during the last six decades. “We have to review the foreign policy of Pakistan,” he stressed.
Recalling the tragedies of the past, he said the people were supposed to follow the vision of Pakistan’s founder – Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah – but deviated from the path.
In his remarks about the extremism, Asif claimed that Pakistan had made a huge mistake by indulging into Afghan war.
He had yesterday said that 125 out of 128 recent attacks in Pakistan were coordinated from Afghanistan.
