KARACHI, 16 JAN  (DNA) –  Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Saturday defended the criminal prosecution bill approved by Sindh Assembly to empower prosecution to withdraw any case against a suspect with the consent of the court.

Talking to media here, Shah said that wrong perception is being created against the newly adopted bill, which is declared a “black law” by opposition parties in the province.

Under the criminal prosecution bill, he said, the final decision to withdraw any case would be taken by the court.

To a question, the chief minister said that apex committee discussed weak prosecution, adding that there is a need to strengthen the process of prosecution.

Replying to another query, Shah said that there is no difference between Teheek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Daesh as they both are terrorists group. The government is fighting both the groups, he added. DNA
