ISLAMABA,D AUG 08 (DNA)- The President of Iran Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday called PTI chairman and Prime Minister in-waiting Imran Khan and congratulated him on his success in elections.

Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest. The Iranian President hoped to further strengthen and promote relations with Pakistan during PTI government tenure.

The Iranian president also invited Imran Khan to visit Iran, which the latter accepted and told the President the Pakistan Foreign Office shall soon make arrangements of the visit.

The PTI chairman also assured the Iranian president that his government would do everything to protect and promote relations with Iran.=DNA
