BAKU: Ambassador Bilal Hayee called on Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office this afternoon. Ambassador praised the strength of the multi-cultural society of Azerbaijan in which people professing different faiths were living in great harmony. Ambassador briefed him on Pakistan’s efforts domestically as well as globally to promote intercultural and interfaith dialogue. Ambassador also highlighted the challenges Muslims were facing in many parts of the world due to increasing trend of Islamophobia.

Expressing his great affection and respect for Pakistan, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade shared his long association with many Pakistani friends. He lauded Pakistan’s leading role in getting Azerbaijan into the fold of Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) after its independence.

Reiterating Azerbaijan’s support to the cause of Jammu & Kashmir dispute, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade prayed for early resolution of the dispute and wished that people of Kashmir could live with dignity and peace.
