First Test: Pakistan all out for 422, lead by 3 against Sri Lanka on Day 4
ABU DHABI, OCT 01 (DNA) – Pakistan on Sunday resumed their first innings batting on the fourth day of the first-Test against Sri Lanka at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Following the dismissal of Babar Azam in the final over of third day, Azhar Ali was joined by debutante Haris Sohail after the game resumed earlier today.
Ali was dismissed after scoring 85 runs today, followed by skipper Sarfraz Ahmed on 18 and bowler Mohammad Amir on four runs.
Before lunch on day four, Pakistan was trailing the Sri Lankan first innings total of 419 by 79 runs with two wickets intact .
However, Pakistan managed to trail ahead by three runs before being bowled out.
Earlier, Ali, who became the eighth cricketer in country’s rich Test history to score 5,000 runs, rescued hosts batting with a fighting half-century on the day three.
Veteran left-arm spinner Rangana Herath was the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka after dismissing three Pakistani batsmen.
Pakistan had scored 266 runs for a loss of four wickets on third day of the match against Sri Lankan first innings total of 419 runs.
