KARACHI, 02 JULY (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Saturday said announced to go to every limit, if needed, for accountability of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as the 120-day sit-in at Islamabad had prepared the party for larger protests.

Talking to the media before leaving for Islamabad from Karachi, Imran Khan said, “Now if we set out for a sit-in we will be able to shut down the entire city.” Imran Khan said that his struggle is against the politics of kingdom.

He added that his party had already filed a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) calling for the resignation of the prime minister. “After knocking the doors of the ECP, we will go to court, and then we will march on to the streets,” he said.

Speaking about the law and order of the city he said that things in Karachi had gotten better than before. Around 5,000 police personnel were fired in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over corruption, setting example for other provinces, Khan said adding that as many as 70,000 cops are deployed at security protocol of politicians in Punjab.

Talking about Amjad Sabri’s killing, he urged Rangers who have a special mandate to operate in Karachi against criminals to arrest late Qawwal’s killers. He said that recruitment of people who fall less than merit and political intervention in employments destroyed Sindh Police.

Khan demanded law enforcement agencies to take every step possible for recovery of Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s abducted son, Owais Ali Shah.

He said that his sister, Dr Uzma was travelling with her children when she was stopped and harassed by Punjab Police. He alleged that the personnel pointed guns at the family and it happened under the nose of Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, premier’s brother.

Dr Uzma was allegedly stopped and harassed by police deployed at security protocol of Pakistan People’s Party’s women wing president and sister to former president, Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur.

Earlier on Friday in Karachi, the PTI chief stated that movement against the government shall be initiated after Eidul-Fitr and that he could foresee the ‘demise’ of the rulers of the country.

Imran Khan said that peace could not be established in the city until the police is depoliticised, adding that the system of governance also needed to be changed. “Nawaz Sharif was involved in theft, now he says he himself will make the laws (for investigation),” Khan said. Sharif brothers had bribed members of the judiciary, National Accountability Bureau and those belonging to the Election Commission of Pakistan, he alleged

He said that Sharif brothers took loans worth Rs 4 billion prior to the 2013 General Elections. PTI chairman further informed that site for the construction of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital was finalised in Karachi. DNA
