PM says terrorists will be eliminated from every nook, cranny  

ISLAMABAD, 23 FEB (DNA) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday categorically stated to eliminate terrorists from every nook and corner of the country.

The Prime Minister stated while talking to the Director of London School of Economics and Political Science Professor Craig Calhoun in Islamabad. He said the country is on the right path to ensure a bright future.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan’s economy is now stable which is further growing because of the consolidated efforts of the economic team. He said Pakistan is proactively reaching out to its neighbours in the region for ensuring regional peace and stability.

He said we will encourage and welcome partnerships of London School of Economics with local universities. Director of London School of Economics appreciated overall improved situation in Pakistan.

He said the improved security environment and positive economic indicators have contributed towards building a positive image of Pakistan. The director appreciated the leadership role of the Prime Minister in steering the country out of crises.

They also discussed in detail the possibilities of students’ exchange programs. Craig Calhoun said in recognition of the achievements of the founding father of Pakistan, a proposal to establish Jinnah Chair in London School of Economics is being considered.

Meanwhile, addressing a ceremony in connection with launching of one megawatt of solar power plant at the parliament house in Islamabad, The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment to end power outages by 2018.

Nawaz Sharif said he is personally monitoring progress on various power projects launched in different sectors. He pointed out that some projects will be completed this year while most of them will come in the system by the end of next year.

Nawaz Sharif appreciated the initiative of Speaker National Assembly and the Senate Chairman for making the country’s parliament the first in the world to run entirely on solar power.

He said it is encouraging to note that the parliament’s solar plant will not only meet its own energy requirements but the additional electricity will be contributed to the national grid. DNA
