IMF commends cooperation b/w US, China on sustainable finance
NEWYORK: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has commended cooperation between the United States and China on sustainable finance under the Group of 20. In an interview with a Chinese news agency, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said the two largest economies cooperating on sustainable finance is a very positive step in a world that is undergoing transformation because of climate risks.
Commander Pakistan Navy Karachi calls on Sindh CM
KARARCHI: Commander Pakistan Navy Karachi Rear Admiral Owais Ahmed Bilgrami called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Thursday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that provincial government has provided thirty million rupees for Sanghar cadet college and a new cadet college will be established in Sujawal. He said the high school in Salihabad Karachi adopted by Pakistan Navy will also be renovated by Sindh government.
U.S. imposes wide array of sanctions on Russia for ‘malign’ actions
WASHINGTON: The United States on Thursday imposed a broad array of sanctions on Russia, including curbs to its sovereign debt market, to punish it for interfering in last year’s U.S. election, cyber-hacking, bullying Ukraine and other alleged “malign” actions.
