POF board approves accounts; appoints auditors
ISLAMABAD, OCT 22 (DNA) – 140th meeting of OPF Board of Governors held at OPF Head Office Islamabad. Barrister Amjad Malik, Chairman BoG OPF chaired the meeting.
The Company Secretary BOG presented a compliance report on board’s resolutions and directives of Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) .
The Board considered and approved audited accounts of previous year and appointment of Auditors for the next Financial year. The board also granted approval for appointment of Chief Internal Auditor. MD & CFO OPF presented their reports.
The Housing and works division gave presentation to the Board about the development of OPF housing scheme Zone-V & furnish a proposal of construction of apartment buildings and informed that possession of block C Zone V Islamabad housing scheme that shall be completed by December of this year.
The Chairman asserted to complete the task within a prescribed time limit keeping in view transparency in procedures and effective control on proposal of MOU between OPF Eye Hospital Mirpur and charity organizations
The Chairman vowed that government is fully aware about issues of expats and committed to facilitate and resolve them on priority; in this regard, Board approved a pilot project for establishment of Reintegration Centre for those returning migrants to Pakistan.
20 more names were approved from different countries to be included in Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council (OPAC) as recommended by nomination committee. Annual report of the OPF was approved & to be completed by next meeting.
The Chairman BOG briefed the board about his earlier visit to Greece & other countries to gauge the problems and responses of Pakistani diaspora. OPF will celebrate the migrants week from 18th – 23th December 2017. It was agreed that OPF would hold mini convention on the last day of the week. =DNA
