PAC to celebrate Punjab Culture Day on March 14
RAWALPINDI, MAR 08 (DNA) — Punjab Culture Day will be celebrated on March 14 under the auspices of Punjab Arts Council. Culture Day celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
The festivities will include handicraft stalls, musical performances, poster making competitions on the culture of Punjab at 10 a.m., painting exhibition at 1 p.m. Mazahya Mushaira at 3 pm, Afshan Zebi and other singer will perform at folk music night.
In this regard, a meeting was held at Lahore under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro on the occasion of Punjab Culture Day. The meeting reviewed the celebration of culture day on March 14 at the provincial, divisional, district and tehsil levels.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro said that the culture of Punjab would be made known to the world. The colors of many cultures are prominent in the land of five rivers, among which Punjabi, Potohari, Seraiki and Balochi cultures are important.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Information and Culture Raja Jahangir Anwar, all Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioner, Director General Punjab Arts Council Saman Rai and officers from other departments.
Briefing the participants of the meeting, Director General Punjab Arts Council Saman Rai said that Punjab Arts Council will celebrate Culture Day in a benefitting manner throughout the province for which cultural festivals, folk dances, food stalls, Punjabi mushairas will be organized.
