These inspections were carried out in line with OGRA’s public notice of May 27, 2025, which directed LPG companies to:
1. Cease LPG sales through illegal shops and decanters.
2. Conduct inventory audits of distributors and phase out substandard cylinders.
The joint enforcement teams, led by OGRA Lahore Region Director, Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad and Punjab Civil Defence Director, identified several safety violations during the inspections, including:
• Employment of untrained filling operators,
• Faulty or inadequate fire-fighting systems,
• Supply of LPG to unregistered distributors,
• Absence of sales invoices,
• Temporary shutdown of operations by some plants to avoid inspection.
On-site instructions were issued to plant managements to ensure compliance with prescribed safety measures and SOPs.
OGRA has initiated legal action against violators as per rules.
OGRA reiterates its commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable LPG supply chain across the country.
