Misbah suspended for one Test over slow over rate
CHRISTCHURCH: (DNA News) – Pakistan captain Misbah ul-Haq has on Monday been suspended by International Cricket Council (ICC) for one Test match over slow over rate in the first Test against New Zealand, reported Dunya News.
Penalising Pakistan captain over slow over rate in the first Test, ICC banned him for one Test and he’ll not be able to play the next, and final, test against New Zealand.
Pakistan had bowled two overs less than the allotted overs in Christchurch. Previously, his team also failed to keep up with the over rate during Oval Test in England series.
According to ICC rules, a team and its captain failing to keep up with the over rate twice in 12 months are also subject to fine. ICC has also imposed a fine of 40% of the match fee on Misbah ul-Haq.
It is pertinent to mention here that Misbah is already back in Pakistan due to the sad demise of his father-in-law.
