KP government to make children education compulsory
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 26 (DNA) – The Chairman PTI Imran Khan has called upon all the Vice Chancellors of public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to freely work for improving the standard of education without any fear and favour.
He assured them all that PTI led Government in KP will allow no body to politically influence any one of them in any manner.
He said that it is the Vice Chancellor who can inspire, lead and change the status que in higher education and strengthen the culture of creativity.
Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaiser, advisor to Chief Minister on higher education Mushtaq Ghani, Chief Secretary KP Azam Khan and secretary Higher Education were also present on the occasion.
While the vice chancellors informed the PTI chairman of the situation in their respective universities, the Secretary Higher Education briefed the participants about the reforms and development initiatives being taken for improving both quality and access to higher education.
The vice chancellors appreciated the merit based appointments in the universities and assured that they would work for bringing the standard of education in the Province on a par with those of the developed world.
It was decided at the meeting that the Higher Education Department will regularly organize the Vice chancellers conferences so that the problems and issues of the universities are freely discussed and their solution found with consensus.=DNA
