Improving living standard in GB top priority of Govt: PM
ISLAMABAD, 02 JULY (DNA) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the mandate given by the people of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) to PML-N requires that steps be taken on priority basis to improve the standard of living of the people with special reference to important social sectors like health, education and infrastructure development.
He said this while talking to the newly elected Chief Minister GB, Mr. Hafeez ur Rahman who called on him at the PM House here Thursday. The Prime Minister said GB government should make sure that people of the area get corruption free good governance.
This was Mr. Hafeez ur Rahman’s first courtesy call on the Prime Minister after assuming office, in which he thanked the Prime Minister for reposing confidence in him and ensured that he would try his best to make GB a role model of development and prosperity as per the vision of the Prime Minister and the manifesto of PML-N.
Later, Governor GB, Chaudhry Barjees Tahir and Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs, Dr. Asif Kirmani also joined the meeting and discussed political and administrative matters related to GB. DNA
