Key Taliban commander apprehended in Faryab

KABUL, 02 JULY (DNA) – A key commander of the Taliban group has been arrested by police in northern Faryab province.
Sayed Masoud Yaqoubi, spokesman for the provincial police headquarters said that Mullah Mohammad Nabi was arrested in the jurisdiction of Gurziwan District.
He said Mullah Nabi had the responsibility of supplying Taliban in four provinces.
Yaqoubi said that Mullah Nabi is originally from Ghor province who had the responsibility of supplying Taliban in Ghor, Badghis, Sar-i-Pul and Faryab provinces.
According to Yaquobi, Mullah Nabi was further more the security commander of Taliban in Chaharsada District of Ghor province who also had hand in the killing of the former police chief for this district and dozens of other soldiers in Ghor province.
Taliban had not commented on the report by the time this report was filed. DNA
