ICCI Int’l Tourism Summit starts

ISLAMABAD/GILGIT, JUL 7 /DNA/ – 3-day International Tourism Summit organized by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has started in Skardu, On Friday, on the first day of the summit, under the leadership of President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, ambassadors from several countries including Turkey, Malaysia, Iran, Somalia, Bangladesh reached Skardu to participate. Foreign ambassadors and participants visited different tourist spots of Skardu, the ambassadors described the summit as the best effort of Islamabad Chamber. On arrival at Skardah Airport, the delegation was welcomed by Commissioner Skardu Alam Zeb Khan, DIG Farrukh Rasheed, Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari, former Vice President FPCCI Khalid Tawab and senior officials of the police and administration.

The first ICCI International Tourism Summit for the promotion of tourism in the northern regions of Pakistan started in Skardu. The summit will be held on July 7, 8 and 9.A delegation of foreign ambassadors arrived at Skardu Airport on Friday to participate in the summit. The delegation included ambassadors of many countries including Malaysia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Nepal, Somalia, Sudan, and Syria. While a delegation of 120 people from the business community of the country including Islamabad is also participating in the summit. On the first day of the conference, foreign ambassadors and other participants in the delegation visited different areas of Skardu. The ambassadors praised the beauty of the area and termed the summit as a means of promoting tourism.

The foreign ambassadors included in the delegation said that they had heard a lot about the beauty of the northern regions of Pakistan and got the opportunity to see these regions closely through the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce summit. They said that these areas have great potential to bring tourists from all over the world. Such a conference will not only promote tourism but also increase local industry and employment here. Islamabad Chamber has tried its best and this should be continued. They also appreciated the other arrangements of the summit including security.
