ASHGABAT, SEPT 17 (DNA) – President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussein met in Ashgabat on the sidelines of the 5th Asian Games in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan.

The Head of State of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction of the development of fraternal relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan, including regular contacts on the high level of leadership, and added that today level of confidence and solidarity of the two countries will contribute to the strengthening of our bilateral relations and multidimensional cooperation.

Two Leaders emphasized their commitments in the future to increase the trade between the two countries and revitalization of the works of Joint business forum and Joint Working group on Energy and Infrastructure.

Both sides have shown willingness to develop and expand inter-state cooperation in the trade and economic sectors, roads, transport, power plants of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power stations and power transmission lines, mining industry, agriculture, security, defense and culture.
