Govt hints at appointing PAC chairman from opposition
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Government on Monday hinted at appointing Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman from the opposition except Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif and party leader Khawaja Asif.
Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting attended by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and others.
Govt hints at appointing PAC chairman from opposition
Sources said that the meeting decided that the government will again hold dialogues with the opposition and try to woo the opposition on PAC chairmanship and other standing committees.
The dialogues with the opposition will start immediately.
PM Imran Khan while expressing determination of strengthening the Parliament said that he would from now attend the sessions.
