GB Governor appreciates Thalassemia treatment facilities under PBM

ISLAMABAD, 25 MAR (DNA) – Governor Gilgit Baltistan Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan has appreciated Thalassemia treatment facilities under an initiative of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) and lauded PBM efforts in curing children with no financial resources.
Governor GB paid visit to Pakistan Thalassemia Centre (PTC) along with his wife here on Friday, greeted by the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Managing Director Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh and given a tour of the center. They also met with thalassemic children under treatment there and inquired about their health.
Barrister Abid Waheed, on this occasion highlighted various steps taken for ensuring socio-economic rights to the most vulnerable groups. MD told that Pakistan Thalassemia Centre is dedicated to serve thalassemia patients of all over the country including AJK, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA, and within one year, around 500 poor thalassmia patients have been provided excellent clinical and compassionate care free of charge.
The Governor was greatly impressed by the value efforts for accommodating the deprived persons in the field of healthcare, education, self-reliance and rehabilitation. Governor Gilgit Baltistan Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan especially appreciated the steps being taken to extend ray of hope among the poor thalassemic patients. DNA
