Army Chief satisfied with pace of operation in Karachi

KARACHI, April 13 (DNA): The Army Chief, Gen Raheel Sharif, Wednesday expressed his satisfaction over success and pace of operation in Karachi and lauded Rangers, Intelligence and other law enforcement agencies for their phenomenal achievements and sacrifices in improving security environment in Karachi.General Raheel was speaking during his visit to the Corps Headquarters Karachi where he chaired a security meeting, the ISPR said.
The COAS also appreciated the people of Karachi for their unflinching support for the security forces.
He said that economic progress and economic activity is directly linked with peace in Karachi hence a terror free and peaceful Karachi is the ultimate aim of this operation and all efforts must be directed with a focused approach to achieve this objective.
Corps Commander, DG ISI, DG MO, DG MI, DG Rangers were present. COAS was briefed in detail regarding ongoing Karachi operation including intelligence based operations.
Earlier in the morning, he addressed the faculty, participants and allied officers of Air War Course. He dilated on the current global issues,regional security Environment, and our fight against the menace of terrorism.
He resolved to take the fight to its logical end and help create environment to embark the country on the road to development. Speaking at the occasion, he lauded PAF’s role and contributions in support of Army in Op Zarb-e-Azb. Synergy achieved between Air and Land forces has been highly appreciable. DNA
