Oman, Iraq discuss strengthening judicial ties
MUSCAT, MAY 22 (ONA/APP/DNA):Oman and Iraq explored ways to boost judicial cooperation during a meeting between top legal officials in Muscat on Wednesday.
Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of Oman’s Supreme Judicial Council, welcomed Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan, head of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council, and his delegation.
The talks focused on sharing expertise, improving court systems, and speeding up legal processes.
Both sides discussed modernizing court procedures, enhancing judicial training, and using technology to streamline justice services.
The Iraqi delegation also learned about Oman’s progress in digital transformation and tech-driven legal reforms.
Sayyid Mohammed called the meeting a key step in strengthening Oman-Iraq judicial relations, stressing that exchanging knowledge helps improve legal systems. The visit is part of efforts to build long-term partnerships between the two countries’ justice institutions.
