Army called out in Islamabad to ensure security
ISLAMABAD (DNA)..The govt has called out Pak army to ensure security in the RedZone. As per details the supporters of Mumtaz Qadri marched towards D Chowk on the occasion of Chehlum of Qadri. The Islamabad administration completely failed to check the mob. Their were some skirmishes between the protesters and the security personnel. The protesters have vowed to sit at the D chowk until and unless their demands are met. They are demanding release of their arrested people. Negotiations between the protesters and Islamabad admin are under way.
Arrested RAW officer makes shocking revelations
ISLAMABAD, March 27 (DNA): Kulbhushan Yadav, an Indian spy agency RAW’s officer who was arrested by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan earlier this month, revealed that he had been giving training to Baloch armed groups in a bid to attack Pakistani ports, sources said.During interrogation, a private television channel quoted the sources as having said, Yadav also disclosed that he had purchased boats at the Iranian port in Chabahar in order to target Pakistani ports in a terrorist plot.
Govt initiates mega energy projects under CPEC: DAR
ISLAMABAD, March 27 (DNA): Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government is embarking on a robust economic agenda to enhance GDP growth to seven percent per annum.Addressing a seminar in Islamabad on Sunday, he said the government has initiated mega energy projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).He said Chinese companies are investing about thirty-six billion dollars in different energy generation projects, which will bridge the supply-demand gap and produce surplus power to meet future energy needs.
Over 63 killed in Lahore suicide blast
LAHORE: An explosion occurred in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park of Iqbal Town on Sunday evening, killing at least 63 people and injuring over a 306, police said.Iqbal Town Superintendent of Police Dr Muhammad Iqbal said the explosion was a suicide attack.Eye witnesses said there were pools of blood and scattered body parts in the park, where a large number of families, especially women and children, were present on a Sunday evening.Rescue officials and police rushed to the explosion site in a renowned residential area, where at least 20 people are reportedly injured.
Junaid Jamshed attacked at airport
ISLAMABAD, MAR 27 (DNA) -A furious mob of unknown people attacked popular Pakistani singer-turned-evangelist Junaid Jamshed at the Benazir International Airport in Islamabad accusing him of blasphemy.The former vocalist of the band Vital Signs received kicks and blows by a small group of men just as he was leaving the airport.The group chanted slogans against Jamshed before beating him up. A security official came to his rescue and led him back to the safety of the arrival lounge at the airport.
PM Nawaz to attend Nuclear Security Summit in US
ISLAMABAD, 27 MAR (DNA) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will represent Pakistan at the fourth and final nuclear security summit in Washington on Thursday. The summit will discuss the evolving threats and highlight steps to minimize the use of highly-enriched uranium.Pakistan is one of the fiftythree states, besides four international observers – the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, Interpol and the European Union -invited to be part of the NSS process. The summit also offered an opportunity for Pakistan to project its credentials in the nuclear field.
