PM Nawaz to attend Nuclear Security Summit in US
ISLAMABAD, 27 MAR (DNA) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will represent Pakistan at the fourth and final nuclear security summit in Washington on Thursday. The summit will discuss the evolving threats and highlight steps to minimize the use of highly-enriched uranium.Pakistan is one of the fiftythree states, besides four international observers – the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, Interpol and the European Union -invited to be part of the NSS process. The summit also offered an opportunity for Pakistan to project its credentials in the nuclear field.
On the sidelines of the summit, the prime minister is expected to have meeting with President Obama. Besides other issues, security situation in the region is likely to come up for discussion. The prime minister will also meet other world leaders on the occasion. DNA
