Six killed after a rocket hits mosque in Afghanistan
KABUL: A rocket apparently fired by fighters from the self-styled Islamic State (IS) movement has hit a mosque in eastern Afghanistan, killing six and wounding four others, a local official said on Saturday. The attack in Achin, southeast of Jalalabad in Nangarhar province, occurred during evening prayers on Friday, district governor Haji Ghalibhe said. 27 dead in club explosion in Bucharest
BUCHAREST: An explosion and ensuing flames on a stage at a Bucharest nightclub on Friday left 27 people dead and 180 hospitalised with injuries, Romania’s interior minister said.Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea said the explosion occurred at Colectiv club, located in a basement in downtown Bucharest, a city of 3 million people. Witnesses told Antena 3 TV that there were between 300 to 400 mostly young people at the club and only one exit door when the metal band Goodbye to Gravity was performing and a “pyrotechnical show” went awry.

Sindh, Punjab vote in LG polls after 10 years: violence in different areas
KARACHI/LAHORE: Voters lined up outside polling stations as voting for the first phase of the much-delayed local body polls in 20 districts of Sindh and Punjab went underway on Saturday. Polling started at 7.30am and will continue till 5.30pm without any break. In some polling stations, polling began late as presiding officers were not aware of the notification that polling was to be started at 7.30am.
