Uzbekistan to introduce a single ticket for transport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (DNA) – From 1 January 2020, a unified system of payment for public transport will begin to operate throughout the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported in the press service of the Transport Administration of the capital.
The principle of operation of this system. Where and how much can I buy a card?
It will be possible to pay for travel in any form of transport in all cities of Uzbekistan by means of a contactless plastic card, similar in size to a bank card. It will be possible to buy it for 30 thousand soums, after which it will be necessary to replenish it through the application on a mobile phone or through a bank card (including using international payment systems). At the new metro stations, turnstiles are already adapted for the implementation of this system.
Four types of cards will be introduced: for pensioners, students and a discount card, as well as a common unified transport card. The fare will depend on the tariff set in a particular region and take into account benefits and discounts for different categories of passengers. It is planned that they will be with a photograph of the owner, and public service centers will issue them.
How to use the E-ticket in transport?
Public transport will be equipped with readers, which themselves will write off the amount for the trip. The passenger just needs to attach the transport card to the device – the fare is paid.
