ISLAMABAD, JUNE 13 (DNA) –The US ambassador in Pakistan, Richard Olson has said his country attaches due importance to its relations with Pakistan adding cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow even in the prospect.Ambassador Olson was speaking on the occasion of a farewell dinner hosted in his and outgoing Portugal charge d Affaires honor by Dean of European Ambassadors Emilian ION.
Ambassador Olson further said, during his stay in Pakistan he got love and affection from the people of Pakistan, which he will remember forever.
He added, Pakistani people are cordial and friendly. He would certainly miss their hospitality. Ambassador Olson is leaving Pakistan in a couple of months after completing his tenure in Pakistan.
The US ambassador also mentioned about transatlantic relations adding this dinner hosted by the Dean of European Ambassadors is a clear manifestation of closer relations between the US and European countries.
Ambassador of Romania Emilian ION who is also Dean of European Ambassadors said in his speech, Ambassador Olson contributed greatly towards promotion of Pakistan, US relations. He said, Richard Olson during his stay in Pakistan worked hard and in a professional manner.
Ambassador Emilian further said Richard Olson is a career diplomat who put in his best efforts to promote relations with the respective countries he served.
Ambassador Emilian wished him best of luck in his future endeavors adding Romania and the US would continue to be trusted friends even in the coming days.= DNA
