Ukrainian Ambassador meets Senator Azam Swati
ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (DNA): Ukrainian Ambassador Mr. Voldymyr Lakomov met Senator Azam Khan Swati, Chairman Defence Committee in his Chamber at Parliament House and exchanged views over mutual friendship and areas of collaboration between the two countries.
During the meeting Senator Azam Khan Swati, discussed matters of mutual concern and importance for both the countries, he stressed the need for enhancing trade and defence collaboration. He also hoped that, in addition to the areas mentioned above, Ukraine would also join hands with Pakistan for the promotion of technical education especially in areas of Science and Technology and enhance student exchanges between the two countries.
Speaking about enhancing technical and educational collaboration between the two countries, Ambassador Mr. Voldymyr Lakomov informed Senator Azam Khan Swati of plans to take the first batch of exchange students from Pakistan to Ukraine. He praised the standard of higher education in Pakistan especially in fields of science and technology and lauded the role of NUST. He also stressed the need for cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Senator Azam Khan Swati, assured the Ambassador Mr. Voldymyr Lakomov of his complete support and said that he and his government would be happy to facilitate the Ukraine Embassy in Pakistan at any time. Ambassador Mr. Voldymyr Lakomov thanked Senator Azam Khan Swati for his support and said that he looked forward to the Pak-Ukraine Friendship groups visit to Ukraine. They exchanged note of thanks and souvenirs.
