Two stage plays presented at PNCA
ISLAMABAD, MAY 21 (DNA) – Two stage plays of the PNCA Youth Drama Festival were presented here at PNCA Auditorium on May 21.First play “Diya Jalaye Rakna” was presented by the students of Government Post Graduate College, sixth road, Rawalpindi, in which the issue of negative perception of illiterate class about the role of women in the society has been raised.
The play highlighted various problems including showing of unhappiness on birth of female child and the non-fulfilment of responsibilities towards provision of basic rights including education, dignity and self-respect, without which the society cannot mark significant progress.
Second play of the festival “Ishq Gadagar” was presented by the students of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, Islamabad, in which the topic of begging and its negative repercussions for the society at large has been highlighted. Begging is slap in the face of a civilized society, which needs to be curtailed through advocacy and state interventions.
Concluding ceremony of the Festival will be held on Monday May 23 at 4:00 pm in which a short play by students of PNCA Drama Workshop will be presented and certificates will be awarded to the participants of youth drama festival. =DNA
