Three Indian soldiers killed in retaliatory firing across LoC: ISPR

ISLAMABAD, OCT 04 (DNA) – Three Indian soldiers were killed in retaliatory firing by Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) as unprovoked shelling from Indian side killed two children, an ISPR statement said on Wednesday.

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, the Indian forces across the LoC targeted the civilian population in the Rawalakot and Chirikot sectors after resorting to unprovoked firing and shelling.

“Mortar rounds hit a house of a civilian – Sakhi Kayani – claiming lives of his two children,” the ISPR statement added.

“Pak Army posts are engaging Indian posts,” the ISPR statement further said, adding that Indian posts suffered heavy damages while the intermittent firing at LoC is still continued.

Earlier on Monday, Pakistan Army destroyed two Indian posts after a civilian was martyred and five other sustained bullet injuries by Indian unprovoked firing in the Rakhchikri sector.

Prior to that, on September 30, unprovoked firing across the LoC martyred a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and two civilians.

One civilian was killed and two wounded in the same sector on September 23.

Over the recent spate of firing incidents across the LoC, the foreign office said that India has violated the ceasefire accord five times in the last 12 days, claiming lives of 11 people including five women.
