Tashkent peace conference on Afghanistan kicks off
TASHKENT, MAR 27 (DNA) – Foreign Ministers from Central Asian and European countries have underlined the need for stabilisation of Afghanistan for its socio-economic development.
At an international conference in Tashkent, European Union’s support for efforts of Central Asian countries on ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan was discussed.
The Central Asian countries hailed the European intention to develop and adopt an updated EU Strategy for the region next year.
Twenty countries and international organizations attended the conference, titled “Peaceful Cooperation in Security and Regional Interaction”.
