Spanish artists present a spell-binding performance

ISLAMABAD, APR 20 (DNA) – A mesmerizing performance by Spanish artists left the audience spell bound and the spacious auditorium of Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) jam-packed with Islambadites, resounded with thumping applause on the conclusion of the performance.
The Ambassador of Spain, Carlos Morales, hosted the Flamenco music concert with a view to promoting Spanish music in Pakistan and further strengthens cultural linkages between the two countries.
The ambassador in his brief speech talked about the music and said Flamenco is a living art form. Decreed Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity by UNECO, Flamenco is represented throughout the world in tableaus, theaters, and prominent dance festivals.
It is well known for its aesthetic form along with its rhythmic nature and eclectic complexity. Falmenco forms part of the heritage of generations of people, he added.
It is a way of life and creative expression for gypsies and Andalusians, undergoing a process of continual evolution as it blends with other art forms, cultures and subcultures, into the version we see today – passionately invoking human emotions throughout.
While giving an introduction of the artists the ambassador said, Elena la Machana has performed and presented her own shows throughout Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, Italy, India and Pakistan. She has also taught courses in many of these countries and is still in a process of constant creativity.
During the performance she was accompanied by the impetuous and sensual voice of Rose de Algeciras, first prize winner of the 2003 Pena Flamenca El Mellizo of Cadiz contest. El Tano, the Dutch guitarist, based in Seville since 1999 possesses unique artistic prowess for creativity and interpretation and has recorded there remarkable albums.
The ambassador hosted a reception for the audience after the performance.=DNA
