Shavkat Mirziyoyev approves Strategy for Uzbekistan’s Transition to Green Economy for 2019-2030
The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution approving the Strategy for Uzbekistan’s Transition to Green Economy for 2019-2030.
One of the main objectives of this transition is to increase the energy efficiency of the economy and the rational consumption of natural resources.
This will be reportedly achieved through the technological modernization of and development of financial mechanisms.
The strategy implies implies the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of gross domestic product by 10% from the 2010 level.
It will also provides for the increased access to modern, affordable and reliable energy supply for 100% of households and economic sectors.
In addition, the production and use of eco friendly improved motor fuel and cars will be expanded, with focus placed on development of electric transport.
