SC orders to issue computerized NICs to transgender within 15 days

ISLAMABAD, JUL 05 (DNA) – The Supreme Court has ordered the issuance of computerised national identity cards to transgender within fifteen days.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, while presiding over the suo motu hearing of non-issuance of CNICs to transgenders asked NADRA chairman Usman Mubeen whether transgenders were being issued CNICs.
The NADRA chairman told the court that ninety percent CNICs have so far been issued. He said we are using mobile registration units to issue CNICs.=DNA
