ISLAMABAD, AUG 11 /DNA/ – A positive development has emerged for Pakistan hockey, as the Russian Hockey Federation has extended an invitation to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to play a bilateral series.

According to PHF, in case the senior team is unavailable due to World Cup commitments, the Pakistan Whites squad will include reserve players from the senior camp along with talented emerging players from the junior camp.

The Pakistan Whites team will travel to Russia from August 26 to September 2, where they are scheduled to play three to four matches in the bilateral series.

As part of its broader plans, PHF is also arranging various international tournaments and bilateral series in the coming months for Under-18, Under-21, senior, women’s, and Under-18 girls’ teams. The aim is to provide players at both men’s and women’s levels with consistent international exposure.

PHF stated that the upcoming series against Russia and South Korea will play a vital role in giving players valuable international experience and preparing them for major future events.

PHF President emphasized that the Federation’s objective is to provide maximum international opportunities to national team players and to establish a strong and sustainable system for Pakistan hockey. He added that offering more opportunities to women and junior teams at the international level remains a key priority.

The Federation believes that continuous international competitions will not only enhance the skills of current players but also help in grooming a new generation of talented athletes for the future.
