Rescue, relief operations continue in snow-rain hit areas
RAWALPINDI, JAN 15 (DNA) – Relief and rescue operation in snow hit areas of Neelum Valley AJ & K, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan continues.
Army helicopters carrying Tents, Blankets, Rations, cooked food and medicine flown to provide comfort to stranded population .
Army troops including FWO and civil administration undertaking joint effort. During last 36 hours,
Blocked Karakoram Highway and Jaglot Skardu Road at Pattan, Matta Banda, Shatial, Tatta Pani, Hunza ,Sost, Morkhoon, Khunjrab and Dambudas have been restored. In Balochistan, portions of N50 and N25 at Khan Mehtarzai and Lakpass Tunnel has also been cleared. FWO teams have been deployed at bottlenecks astride KKH to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of traffic. Relief goods are also being distributed amongst affected families.
