PTI workers stay away from Parade ground show
SLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers stayed away from Parade ground procession but analysts say it was a big show even then. PTI workers are not happy with Imran Khan decision to defer dharna.
Imran Khan promised to fetch over one million people but according to reports forty thousand people attended the rally.
According to a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, 10,000 police personnel have been deployed as part of the security details for the rally.
PTI leadership has officially informed Islamabad administration that the rally will conclude at 10 PM.
Party chief Imran Khan has arrived at the Parade Ground and will address the rally later at night. Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Pervaiz Khattak and others also present in the rally.
The rally is being held after PTI postponed its November 2 planned ‘lockdown’ of Islamabad. PTI chairman Imran Khan has claimed that one million people will attend the rally.
Imran Khan had called for the rally following the Supreme Court’s decision to form a commission to probe Panama Leaks. “I am glad the Supreme Court has directed the prime minister to present himself for accountability,” Khan told supporters in Bani Gala on Tuesday.
