Resounding win for PTI in Peshawar by election
PESHAWAR, OCT 26 (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Arbab Amir is leading the race in the by-poll for Peshawar’s NA-4 constituency.
According to unofficial results from 233 polling stations, Amir is leading with 40,057 votes as compared to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N’s) Nasir Khan with 21,736 votes.
Awami National Party’s Khushdil Khan clinched 21,654, whereas PPP’s Asad Gulzar secured 11,584.
Meanwhile, PTI chief Imran Khan congratulated the party candidate.
Polling concluded peacefully without any major untoward incident in the seat that fell vacant after the demise of PTI MNA Gulzar Khan.
The NA-4 constituency lies in the south of Peshawar along Kohat and Bara roads sharing a border with Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency, Frontier Regions of Kohat and Peshawar and this constituency was created following the 2002 delimitation.
A total of 5,000 police and 1,700 army personnel have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident taking place during the polling.
Locals of Union Council-56 in NA-4 boycotted the elections for negligence by area representatives.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), more than 0.3 million votes are registered in the constituency.
