PTCL arranges inter-departmental cricket tournament
ISLAMABAD, APR 02 (DNA) – Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading ICT services provider has organized a two-day Cricket Festival at Islamabad’s National Cricket Stadium.
Eight PTCL teams representing various regions and zones competed in the PTCL Cricket Fest 2016 and put on an exciting show. Following the sharply contested league matches Teams PTCL Broadband knights (North), PTCL Charji strikers (HQ), PTCl Nitro Riders (South) and PTCL EVO Lovers(Central) moved on to the semi-finals. The final match was played between PTCL Broadband knights (North), zone and PTCL EVO Lovers (Centre zone) and the eventual winner of this tournament turned out to be PTCL Broadband knights (North).
The Chief Guests at the Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony were Mr. Syed Khalid Ali Raza Gardezi, Joint Secretary MoIT. Dr. Daniel Ritz, President & CEO PTCL and Syed Mazhar Hussain, CHRO PTCL were the Chief Hosts, who greeted the dignitaries and their families.
Not to be outdone, four exclusive matches were also played amongst two Executive Teams and two Women’s Teams, followed by matches between PTCL, UFone and MoIT.
Special recognition and prizes were awarded to Jibran Abbasi from PTCL Broadband knights (North) who was declared as Player of the Tournament and Best Batsman for his classy stroke-making.
Shahid Saeed from PTCL Broadband Knights (North) was declared the Best Bowler of the tournament and Man of the Match after the Final.
Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL said: “Cricket is a binding force within our society which encapsulates the unrelenting passion and competitive spirit. The PTCL Cricket-fest 2016 is a celebration of these core values that make our people great and are evident across PTCL’s presence nationwide while serving our customers.”
The two day fun-filled event also offered various attractions for the visiting families and kids, ranging from food and fun activity stalls to entertainment and live music as well as gaming lounges.=DNA
