President urges Muslim world to adopt ample strategy to address challenges

ISLAMABAD, 16 JUNE, (DNA) – President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the Muslim world to adopt a comprehensive joint strategy to address challenges facing the Ummah.

He was speaking at an Iftar dinner he hosted in honour of diplomats in Islamabad on Thursday evening.

The President regretted that instead of much-needed unity the Islamic countries were facing internal differences. As a consequence instead of facing their common enemies and problems, their energies are lost in fighting out differences.

Mamnoon Hussain referred to longstanding unresolved disputes of Kashmir and Palestine and said during Ramazan we should also pray for just settlement of these issues.

He said Pakistan wants constructive and result-oriented dialogue with India for the sake of regional peace and stability. He said durable peace in South Asia is deeply linked to resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.

The President said a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is one of the priorities of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He said Sino-Pakistan relations have always been exemplary and these have now assumed strategic dimension.

He said Pakistan has long term historic relations with the United States which are further deepening through strategic dialogue.

President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan also has close cooperative relationship with Russian Federation, Central Asian Republics, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and European Union. =DNA
