President, PM discuss overall country's situation

ISLAMABAD, 01 AUG, (DNA) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed the overall situation of the country and exchanged views on matters of national importance.

The two leaders reviewed the ongoing development projects, energy projects, security situation, state of national economy, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Both the leaders agreed that completion of CPEC would usher in an era of progress and prosperity for the whole country. They reiterated that operation Zarb-e-Azb would continue till its logical conclusion.

The two leaders praised the sacrifices of the armed forces and law enforcement personnel in fight against terrorism and extremism.

They resolved that determination of the nation would deter and defeat all the evil forces and the country would be put on the path to progress.

Both the leaders reviewed the regional situation and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to have friendly relations with all the neighboring countries for peace and prosperity in the region.

The Prime Minister briefed the President on policies and decisions of the Government on various issues.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the government will continue pursuing its agenda of economic development for overall national progress.

The President noted with appreciation that national economy is thriving due to the sound economic policies of the government.

President Mamnoon Hussain congratulated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on regaining good health and expressed his optimism that he will continue to serve the people of Pakistan with full vigour. =DNA
