President Ghani, first lady test negative for coronavirus
KABUL, APR 21 (DNA) – The Presidential Palace confirmed that novel coronavirus (COVID-19) tests were conducted on President Ashraf Ghani and the First Lady Rula Ghani.
“COVID19 tests were conducted for the President and the First Lady on their own request. Both results are negative,” Presidential spokesperson Sediq Sediqqi said in a Twitter post.
Sediqqi further added “The President is healthy and is leading government efforts on all fronts. All precautions are in place to make sure his work environment is safe and healthy.”
The Ministry of Public Health announced Monday that the ministry recorded 30 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country in the past 24 hours. Waheedullah Mayar, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, said the public health authorities recorded 30 new positive cases in the past 24 hours.
Mayar further added that the new cases increase the total number of COVID-19 to 1026 since its outbreak in the country. Earlier, reports emerged at least personnel of the presidential palace have contracted the disease.=DNA
