PAYO organizes Pakistan Day function in New York
NEW YORK, MAR 28, (DNA) – Pakistan American Youth Organization (PAYO) organized a function in accordance with Pakistan Day in New York’s Coney Island area.
The hall was beautifully decorated and the biggest Pakistani flag in US was hanged at the stage.
In order to relive the 1940 era, youth and elders wore special costumes of that time.
Children sang special national songs while the audience chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.
Renowned intellectual and American university professor Dr Adeeb Ashraf was specially invited in the ceremony to aware the young generation about Pakistan resolution and reasons to attain a separate state.
Other speakers on the occasion said that the day is a source of happiness for them as the youth has arranged the special ceremony in relevance with Pakistan Day.
They said that two-nation theory still exists but the enmies are trying to wipe it.
Kashmiri leader Sardar Sawar Khan said that he was pleased that the youth had not forgotten Kashmir and have raised the slogans here too.
Pakistan Christian Association, renowned journalist Masood Haider alongwith other organizations and personalities were awarded shields.
Consul-General Raja Ali Ejaz said: “Our next generation has listened attentively to the address. Many other organizations are conducted such prgrammes. PAYO has now been institutionalized and will hold such ceremonies every year.”=DNA
