Pakistan will continue playing its due role in Commonwealth: FM
ISLAMABAD, JULY 09 (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan will continue playing its due role in the Commonwealth. He was talking to media before leaving for Britain on a two-day official visit, on Tuesday.
The Minister said he will be participating in an extraordinary meeting of the Commonwealth in the United Kingdom at the invitation of British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he will have opportunity to meet his counterparts of other member states of the Commonwealth on the sidelines of the meeting. The Minister said he will present Pakistan’s report about mandates of 2018.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said Pakistan would continue to play constructive role in association with the Commonwealth in social and political domains.
“Pakistan has made significant contribution with the Commonwealth and would continue to do so in future as well,” Qureshi told reporters here before leaving for London to participate in the meeting of 19th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting.
The foreign minister is undertaking the visit on the invitation of British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Jeremy Hunt. Qureshi said the event was an opportunity for Pakistan to present its point of view amongst the 54 member countries of the Commonwealth. = DNA
