Pakistan Railways losses being reduced: Minister
LAHORE, Feb 08 (DNA): Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Monday said that losses of Railways are being reduced every year and department is functioning smoothly.
Talking to media persons in Lahore, Rafique said a loan of six billion rupees has been retired and out-dated locomotives are being replaced.
The minister said sixteen defective locomotives were halted after accident of Jafar express and that they are being examined by Pakistani and Chinese engineers.
He said that procurement process has been made more efficient and contract of poor quality locomotives has been cancelled.
Rafique said there would be no compromise over standard of locomotives while signing contracts with companies. DNA
