Country put on path of progress, development: Finance Minister
ISLAMABAD, 24 OCT (DNA) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that due to the prudent economic policies of the government the country has been put on the path of progress and development.
He was addressing a seminar on “Emerging Markets” in Islamabad on Monday. The Finance Minister said when the government took over in 2013, the country was facing serious challenges in different sectors including energy shortage, extremism and instable economy.
Finance Minister said due to the government’s initiatives the energy shortage issue will be overcome as work on 10,000 megawatt energy projects will be completed by March 2018. Ishaq Dar said the government has improved the overall security situation and the country has been made safer for the investors.
The Finance Minister said the economic indicators are moving in the positive direction and international organizations and businessmen have acknowledged Pakistan’s performance in economy. He said the economic stability will help to create more job opportunities and eliminate unemployment in the country.
Two days earlier Minister said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of new building of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) that the opponents are aware that if the current government completes its tenure, it would be hard for them to win next election as the PML N government has not only taken the country out of crisis but has also developed economy on sustainable grounds.
