Pakistan hands over Mullah Mansour’s dead body to Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD, 31 MAY (DNA) – Pakistani authorities on Tuesday handed over the dead body of Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour to Afghan officials. Mansour was killed in a US drone strike in Balochistan on May 21.
Mansour’s dead body was handed over to Afghanistan after verification regarding his identity was received through his Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test report. While addressing to the board meeting of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar said that all officials who facilitated Mansour in getting a fake National Identification Card (NIC) have been apprehended.
He added that, keeping in view the country’s security situation, it has been decided that re-verification of 100 million NICs shall be made instead of the initial announced figure of 25 million. Nisar said that the individuals who provide information regarding fake NIC holders shall be rewarded. DNA
