Pakistan enjoying good ties with regional countries: Asif
ISLAMABAD, 05 JUNE, (DNA) – Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan was enjoying good cordial relations with all its neighboring and regional countries, including China, Russia, Iran and others.
Talking to media, he said Pakistan has good ties with Iran and he recently held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart.
He said he had also heard the news that Taliban chief Mulla Mansoor, who was killed in a drone attack, had come from Iran.
He said the drone attack in Balochistan was against Pakistan’s sovereignty and the government would not allow any such strike on the country’s soil. Pakistan, he added, had already expressed its displeasure on the attack.
He said Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz had discussed the drone strike issue in Senate.
He said Pakistan was successfully fighting the war against terrorism and had already eliminated the terrorists’ network in the country.
Khawaja Asif, who is also Minister for Water and Power, lauded the efforts of Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism. The army, he said, was successfully conducting the operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
Replying to a question, he said the Panama Papers was non-issue. The name of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in the Papers.
Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf past sit-ins, he said the PTI had wasted nation’s time in protest demonstrations. The party should play positive politics in the country, he added. =DNA
