Pakistan reiterates desire to resolve all issues with India: Nafees Zakaria

ISLAMABAD, August 14 (DNA): Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has said that Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India through dialogue. He was speaking in the Azadi Show of News and Current Affairs Channel (NCAC) of Radio Pakistan in Islamabad on Sunday evening.

Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan has also offered India to hold exclusive dialogue on Kashmir. He said that Pakistan is a peace loving country and wants to have friendly relations with all its neighbors.

He said that solution of Kashmir issue is imperative for durable peace in the region. He said the country of the region should focus on the development of its people because this region has poorest segments of the world.

The spokesperson said that the world should also play its role for the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He said Pakistan wants the solution to the Kashmir dispute according the aspirations of the Kashmiris in lines with the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions.

He said Pakistan has raised the voice on Kashmir at all the international forums and will continue to do this till the resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Speaking about the Indian forces brutalities in held Kashmir, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said that since the start of the liberation struggle by Kashmiris, over 100,000 Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives, and 20,000 handicapped.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that after the martyrdom of a Kashmiris youth on 8th of last month, the liberation struggle has got a new momentum. He said that Indian forces are using brute force to suppress the voice of Kashmiris. He said during the last five weeks 70 Kashmiris have been martyred and 6,000 injured including 500 critically injured. He said that the Indian forces used pellet guns to torture the innocent Kashmiri youth and children.

To a question about Pakistan’s role in the elimination of terrorism, Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism and we have sacrificed 60,000 lives in this war. He said Pakistan has to face 150 billion dollars setback in its economy due to this war. He said that world has acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

He said terrorism has become an international issue and Pakistan is ready to provide its expertise in the war against terrorism to other countries. He said other countries are getting help from Pakistan for their capacity building in the war against terrorism.

Speaking about Pakistan’s Independence Day, Nafees Zakaria said that the independence has been achieved after great sacrifices. He said there is need to appraise the new generation about the Pakistan movement and sacrifices rendered in this movement. He said media can play a vital role in this regard.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Radio Pakistan is playing a vital role in presenting the true image of Pakistan before the world.  He said Radio Pakistan is our pride and is performing its national responsibility in the best way.

Earlier Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria along with Controller News and Current Affairs Javed Khan Jadoon and journalists and anchors cut the cake of the 70th independence day of Pakistan.

Later talking to newsmen, Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self determination.

He said that out of eight proposed segments of dialogue with India, Pakistan will always give priority to Kashmir issue. DNA
